Affiliate disclosure
Clear about how The North Compass works.
Our purpose is to help travellers discover places, organise ideas and compare practical options before continuing to an external booking service.
What we do and how we do it
We are an independent travel discovery, planning and digital-guide platform. We help travellers explore destinations, organise itineraries and find relevant travel services. We are not a travel agency and do not take payment for flights, accommodation, tours, transfers or travel packages.
Some buttons, search tools and recommendations connect to external platforms. If a traveller follows one of these links and completes a booking, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to the traveller. This supports the operation and continued development of the website.
Commercial relationships do not purchase positive editorial coverage. Destinations, articles and planning suggestions are selected for usefulness, relevance and traveller interest. Sponsored or affiliate journeys are identified where they appear.
Live prices, availability and marketplace information may be supplied through external services. Cached values, estimates and examples are labelled where relevant and should be treated as planning guidance rather than a guaranteed quote.
When a traveller continues to another website, the booking contract is made directly with that external provider. The provider is responsible for the final price, availability, payment, confirmation, changes, cancellation terms, refunds and customer support.
Travellers should review the final booking details, accessibility information, insurance requirements, entry rules and cancellation conditions before purchasing. Time-sensitive official requirements should always be confirmed with the appropriate authority.
External websites operate under their own privacy, cookie and service policies. Opening an external link means that the destination website may process information according to its own terms.
